Sloan School of Management
The consistently top-ranked MBA program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management began life in 1914 as, of all things, an engineering course, and the engineering mind-set still permeates the campus in Cambridge, Mass.
Sloan today is well-known for the academic rigor of its many programs, which include a full-time MBA program with a recently revamped curriculum and an executive MBA; master's programs in finance and management; joint programs with the MIT School of Engineering and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology; plus PhD and unndergraduate programs.
Since its founding, the Sloan School has focused on providing students with the must-know operational tools to be successful in their fields—in a setting on the banks of the Charles River that makes the entire experience worth the price tag.
"If you're going to business school to check a box and go back to your old investment bank, you may not fit in," says one student in a survey conducted by Bloomberg Businessweek. "MIT Sloan is a school of brilliant, energetic, self-motivated, and ultimately humble students who are genuinely interested in leveraging their MBA experience to accomplish their diverse long-term goals."
